Located 30 km east of Haikou, the Dongzhaigang mangrove forest is one of the best preserved and largest habitats of its type in China. It possesses an extensive network of channels, rich flora and unique wildlife, including numerous rare migrating bird species. You will be taken on a small boat and navigate through this unique environment. Then, continue towards the well preserved and intriguing Wenchang Confucius Temple, originally built in the 12th century. Finally, make your way to a local harbor, where your vehicle will board a small ferry and cross the bay to reach Dongjiao, where over 500,000 coconut trees of many different varieties grow. This makes for a pleasant environment to spend a few hours relaxing and drinking a coconut juice by the beach.
