Hainan Island lies on the same latitude as Hawaii Island, and is often called Asia's Hawaii. With its enormous maritime area, Hainan province borders the neighboring countries of Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
The island itself is volcanic in origin giving rise to a rugged mountainous centre surrounded by coastal plains on all sides. In total Hainan has 1528 km of coastline with sandy beaches. Water temperatures maintain year round levels of 18 to 30 C.
Tropical Beaches
Along the coast, visitors enjoy blue sea water, soft white sand and coconut trees. In the seaside area, they can watch the sunrise at dawn, go fishing in the evening and listen to the tender sound of the waves at night.
Clean ecological environment
Hainan is one of the few islands in the world untouched by pollution. Characterized by its bio-diversity Hainan's air quality ranks amongst the highest in China and provides a natural "oxygen bar". The island also boasts water quality equivalent to the best in China. With a well-kept natural ecological environment and primeval rain forests, Hainan is home to many rare species and plants.
